The primary purpose of insulation is to reduce heat loss and consequently heating costs, protect the structures, as well as create comfort in living spaces. The typical thermal conductivity values for insulation materials range from 0.03 to 0.04 W/mK. The heat transfer coefficient U (W/m2K) indicates heat losses and depends on the thickness of the insulation itself. The lower the coefficient, the better insulated the building is. The requirements for maximum normative values of heat transfer coefficient U (W/m2K) are regulated by "Ordinance No. 7 of 15.12.2004." for thermal protection and energy conservation in buildings.
